When I photograph animals, I realize just how resilient and strong they can be. I say this because although I know that there are many people just as strong and willing, dogs (and other animals) don't have a true voice to tell you, to complain, to cry about pain - they just get on with it and in all of that, they always still have that compassion to love and to love unconditionally -- doesn't matter how they got into their situation.
So Mr. Skippy comes up to the photo shoot in his wheelchair and let me tell you all -- he was pretty fast and ready to go! And then Mr. Nic (short for Nicodemus) who was missing an eye and although it broke my heart initially, within minutes, he made me laugh because he was a tough little boy! You could just tell that he had an attitude and it was like he was proud and strong and that nothing was going to affect him! And, just so all of you know, Mr. Nic is up for adoption.
He is currently a foster and so take a peek below at his image -- I created it just for DREAM but if anyone else wants to put Nic's picture up -- feel free to grab it and post it so maybe he can find his forever home with a family that will honor his sweetness, pride & strength!
